JEFF RAMBO

Chief Coffee Geek

I love coffee. If you’re here, there’s a good chance you do too.

I’ve spent over a decade working in specialty coffee. Brewing it, roasting it, competing with it, building cafes, and paying close attention to how it’s experienced by the people on the other side of the bar.

In 2025, I became the U.S. AeroPress Champion and had the opportunity to represent the United States at the World AeroPress Championship. I’m grateful for that experience, but titles have never really been the point for me. Competition is just one way to learn. A way to sharpen your thinking, slow things down, and better understand the craft and the shared culture of how coffee shows up around the world.

What I’ve learned along the way is that great coffee isn’t really about recipes or gear. It’s about intention. Hospitality. Education. And quality. When those things are in place, coffee becomes more than a drink. It becomes a shared moment, one that invites you to slow down and be present.

The most meaningful part of coffee for me has always been the people. The ones you learn from. The ones you teach. The conversations that happen across a bar or around a table that quietly change how you think. Not just about coffee, but about life and work.

My approach is simple. Coffee is timeless.
It’s shared across cultures, generations, and places. Long before trends, and long after them too. My goal is to continue honoring coffee and the people who make it what it is, by learning from them, teaching others, and creating spaces where those exchanges can happen naturally.

That mindset is what led me to build Goldchild, where these ideas are practiced in real time every day. It’s also the foundation for the classes, mentorship, and consulting work I do. Everything I teach comes from lived experience, shaped by the people I’ve had the chance to learn alongside.

My hope is to help move the needle in modern coffee. To push standards forward while keeping the door open. To make specialty coffee better, more thoughtful, and more human as it continues to grow.

There’s more coming. More education. More access. More chances to learn together.

If you’d like to stay close as things unfold, you’re welcome to follow along.
I’m glad you’re here.
